Rob
joined the family team in 2005 after a 20+ year career as an Air Force
officer. He served as a Personnel Officer, whose function was to take care
of the needs of service members and their families. Having moved to many
homes around the world during his military career, Rob has developed an
uncanny ability to help buyers find exactly what they’re looking for. He has also been
firsthand through the experience of building a new home, so he is the Team’s
new construction expert, holding the Certified New Home Sales Specialist
(CSP) designation among other certifications.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island, Rob attended
Rollins College and subsequently graduated from Middle Tennessee State
University (MTSU) with a degree in Mass Communications. He later earned
a Master’s
Degree in International Relations from Troy State University. He has lived
all over the world. Stateside, he has called Virginia, Tennessee, North
Dakota, Oklahoma, California, Hawaii and Florida home. Abroad, he has lived
in Belgium, Greece, Italy and Germany.
Married since 1987 to Paivi Ikonen-Johnson, a native of Finland, they have
a son, Matthew, who attends Shorecrest Preparatory School. As a result, Rob
spends much of his free time driving from chess tournaments to tennis courts
and soccer fields.
